20 Years Altes Rathaus Neubulach — Anniversary Celebration

20 Years of Cultural Center in the Black Forest Mining Town

In 2006, committed citizens of Neubulach joined forces to form the association Altes Rathaus Neubulach e.V. to save the historic 16th-century town hall from decay and preserve it as a meeting place. Over two decades, this commitment has blossomed into a vibrant cultural center offering concerts, readings, exhibitions, discussion evenings, and club festivals. The management has remained entirely voluntary — the association now has dozens of active members and is one of the defining pillars of Neubulach's cultural life.

Anniversary Celebration 2026

On Saturday evening, July 4, 2026, the association invites guests to a festive evening on Neubulach's Marktplatz. From 6 PM to midnight, a program of music, speeches, reminiscences, and conviviality awaits: live performances by artists who have visited the Altes Rathaus over the past 20 years, speeches by the mayor and the association's board, catering by Bönnigheim restaurants and clubs. In case of rain, the celebration will be moved to the nearby Festhalle Neubulach.

Neubulach and the Black Forest

Neubulach is located in the Calw district of Baden-Württemberg, on the northern slopes of the Black Forest. In the Middle Ages, the town was an important silver mining center — the old tunnels can still be visited today as the Hella-Glück-Stollen show mine. The 16th-century Altes Rathaus served as the town's administrative seat for centuries; since its renovation by the association, it has functioned as a cultural center.

A Community Project

What makes the anniversary celebration special is the nature of the association behind it: not a professional foundation, not a state-mandated institution, but a civic initiative that fosters culture in a small town of around 5,500 inhabitants. The festive evening is therefore not just an anniversary celebration, but also a thank you to all members, supporters, and visitors who sustain the cultural center.
