Southern Germany's large agricultural trade fair with a spring festival
The Agrarschau Allgäu in Dietmannsried is one of the most important agricultural trade fairs in the southern German region. On an 80,000 m² site around Schochenbühl, over 400 exhibitors present the entire spectrum of modern agriculture: from compact tractors to large harvesting machines, from milking systems to photovoltaic solutions for farms.
The topics range from agricultural cookbooks to the latest agricultural machinery. The main focuses are:
Parallel to the trade fair, the spring festival in the large festival tent offers classic folk festival atmosphere: Allgäu music, brass bands, and cover bands provide the evening entertainment, while Allgäu specialties and tapped beer from regional breweries fill your stomach. The festival tent is freely accessible during the day; admission is charged from 6 p.m. onwards.
Dietmannsried is a market town with around 8,000 inhabitants in the Oberallgäu district in Bavaria, about 7 km north of Kempten. Its location between the Alpine foothills of the Allgäu and the A7 motorway makes the town easily accessible and thus the ideal location for a trade fair of this magnitude. The Allgäu is one of the most agriculturally productive regions in Germany, characterized by dairy farming, cheese production, and mountain farming traditions.
The Agrarschau focuses on direct contact: visitors can touch machines, sit in tractors, talk to breeders, and participate in expert consultations. Families will find a petting zoo, children's rides, craft stalls, and gastronomic offers on the grounds – the Agrarschau is both a trade fair and a family outing destination.
The Agrarschau Allgäu 2026 will take place from April 16 to 20 in Dietmannsried. On 80,000 m², over 400 exhibitors will present agricultural machinery, animal husbandry, stable and irrigation technology, forestry technology, renewable energies, and culinary Allgäu specialties.
The exhibition grounds will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and the large festival tent from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM (admission to the tent after 6:00 PM is separate). In the festival tent, Allgäu music, brass bands, and regional cover bands will provide a folk festival atmosphere every evening.
Machinery demonstrations, animal husbandry shows, a children's program with a petting zoo and rides, as well as numerous catering stands, make the fair a family-friendly excursion destination over several days.
