Monastery Courtyard Variation Since 2024
Since 2024, there has been a second variation in the Klosterhof (monastery courtyard) of the former monastery complex. The medieval courtyard offers an alternative, slightly quieter atmosphere for families and lovers of historical architecture. Both locations complement each other without competition — the market square for the hustle and bustle, the monastery courtyard for the contemplative Advent experience.
Möllensdorf Forest Christmas Market
In the Möllensdorf district, the extraordinary Wald-Weihnachtsmarkt (forest Christmas market) also takes place — huts and stalls in the middle of the forest, torchlight, and lanterns. Those planning a day trip to Coswig can visit both markets.
In the Wittenberg District
In the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Wittenberg district, Coswig is a quieter counterpart to the overcrowded Lutherstadt next door.
