The Advent Bazaar of the Evangelical Church Community Lübars takes place every year on the 1st Advent on the historic village green of the village, documented since 1230 — one of the few preserved village cores of Berlin, in the middle of the Reinickendorf district. In the church community's rectory garden, stalls with knitwear, handicrafts, Christmas decorations, mulled wine, sausage grill, and waffles are lined up. A tombola, trombone music, carol singing, gingerbread baking with children, and a visit from Santa Claus are firmly part of the program. The proceeds go to Brot für die Welt and Adveniat.

Advent Bazaar of the Lübars Church Community on the 1st Advent 2026 (November 29) from 11 AM to 5 PM in the rectory garden at Alt-Lübars 24. Program as in previous years: knitwear, handicrafts, mulled wine, bratwurst, waffles, tombola, trombone music, carol singing, gingerbread baking, visit from Santa Claus. Free admission, proceeds for Brot für die Welt and Adveniat.

The 2026 edition falls on the 1st Advent, Sunday, November 29, 2026, open from 11 AM to 5 PM in the rectory garden of the Lübars Church Community (Alt-Lübars 24).

The program has been proven for decades: a handful of stalls with handmade knitwear, Christmas decorations, and handicrafts from the community. Refreshments with mulled wine and children's punch, bratwurst, soup, waffles. A tombola with prizes from Lübars shops. Trombone music, communal Advent carol singing, gingerbread baking with children, storytelling, and a visit from Santa Claus in the afternoon.

Getting There

Rectory garden of the Lübars Church Community, Alt-Lübars 24, 13469 Berlin (Lübars district, Reinickendorf borough). Bus 222 (final stop Lübars) and night bus N22 — direct connection to the village green. By car: parking at the village entrance on weekends, very limited within the village itself.

Free admission. Donations for Brot für die Welt and Adveniat are welcome. Food and drinks at the stalls for small prices to benefit the charitable cause.

What to expect is a classic church community Advent bazaar with a village character — not 50 commercial stalls like at central Berlin Christmas markets, but a gathering of community members, neighbors, and day-trippers from Berlin around a handful of stalls.

The stalls traditionally offer regional knitwear, handicrafts, Christmas decorations, and candied almonds. Refreshments include mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst, soup, and freshly baked waffles. A tombola with prizes donated by local businesses, carol singing accompanied by the trombone group, gingerbread baking with children, storytelling, and a visit from Santa Claus are part of the regular program.

Charitable Cause

The proceeds of the event traditionally go to two aid organizations: Brot für die Welt (Protestant) and Adveniat (Catholic, Latin American aid). This ecumenical division is characteristic of many Berlin Advent bazaars and expresses a conscious practice of the churches.
