Summer Concert Days in Lübars

A Village Hall in Northern Berlin

Lübars in the Reinickendorf district is one of Berlin's few surviving Angerdörfer: cobblestones, a church, horse paddocks, and half-timbered houses – at first glance, you might forget you're in the capital. In the middle of this district stands the LabSaal, a lovingly maintained cultural hall run by the association Natur & Kultur (LabSaal-Lübars) e.V., which has been dedicated to neighborhood cultural work between the countryside and the big city for years.

Student Concerts with Flair

The Summer Concert Days are a format created by the Berlin Musikcoach team and its music school. Adult students, who study an instrument or singing as a hobby or alongside their main job, present what they have honed during the academic year – not in the form of stiff recitals, but as real band performances. Trios, quartets, and larger ensembles take turns on stage.

From Jazz Standards to Film Soundtracks

The program surprises with its stylistic breadth: jazz standards, rock and pop numbers, chansons, instrumental film music. Saxophone solos meet groovy rhythm sections, piano trios play ballads, vocal ensembles reinterpret classics. It is precisely this mix of personal commitment and musical skill that gives the concert format its special charm.

Berlin Beyond the Center

Anyone visiting Lübars experiences a side of Berlin that is hardly known to tourists: the rural Reinickendorf on the northern outskirts, with hiking trails leading to the Tegeler Fließ and a village green that opens directly onto the fields. A visit to the Summer Concert Days can therefore be perfectly combined with a walk or a horse ride through the Lübars fields.
