8th edition of the Stuttgart festival and industry meeting for pop culture — Wizemann + City Area
The About Pop Festival & Convention is one of Germany's most distinctive pop formats: a two-day dual format that combines concerts, industry convention, discussion panels, workshops, readings, and parties. It is organized by the Pop-Büro Region Stuttgart with support from the State Capital's Office of Cultural Affairs, the Stuttgart Region Association, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Initiative Musik, and the Ministry of Science Baden-Württemberg. The 8th edition takes place on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Friday, June 12, 2026, is entirely concentrated at the Wizemann area (Quellenstr. 7, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt) — one of Stuttgart's most important concert venues with several halls and an urban industrial charm. A continuous concert evening is planned from 3:30 PM with multiple stages running in parallel. Headliner announcements for 2026:
Saturday, June 13, 2026, will be spread across numerous Stuttgart venues:
The stages will feature regional newcomers from Baden-Württemberg as well as national and international acts. The concept: not a single large festival site, but Stuttgart as a whole festival city — concert-goers discover venues and neighborhoods they might not otherwise visit.
The About Pop Convention is the industry and discourse heart of the festival. It brings together artists, speakers, organizers, media, and academics for:
Over 100 artists, speakers, and panelists are announced.
Already on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the pre-opening event About Night will take place — a kickoff in Stuttgart's clubs that extends the festival into the night.
About Pop reflects the ambition of the Stuttgart region to position itself as a serious pop location alongside Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne. With bands like Fanta 4, Cro, Max Herre, Joy Denalane, or the hip-hop hotspot around Kolchose (Massive Töne, Freundeskreis), Stuttgart has a strong pop tradition — Pop-Büro Region Stuttgart has been promoting newcomers and networking the South German scene with the international industry for years.
The 8th edition of About Pop once again combines concerts and discourse in a two-day dual format. On Friday, the Wizemann area will host a continuous concert evening, while on Saturday, the festival will be decentralized across Stuttgart's city area and the region. Headliners include Peaches and Get Well Soon, complemented by acts like 6euroneunzig, Uche Yara, Nightbus, Josh Cohen, and Agriculture. The convention will bring together over 100 speakers for panels on democracy, AI, nightlife economy, creative industries, and pop culture. The kickoff on Thursday, June 11, will be the pre-opening event About Night in Stuttgart's clubs.
