810 Years Kremmen
The town of Kremmen in the Oberhavel district is celebrating its 810th city anniversary in 2026. Unlike the extensive 800th-anniversary celebration a decade ago, the 2026 anniversary focuses on a smaller, concentrated format over one day – with a grand stage program on the central Kirchplatz.
Program on May 30, 2026
The stage program begins at 4:30 PM. The ceremony will be opened by the town of Kremmen together with the church community, which traditionally provides the stage. Four very different acts will follow:
- Oberhavelblech – five brass players performing classical and contemporary pieces
- SPILWUT – medieval music ensemble with historical instruments, folk dances, and Renaissance pieces
- Thomas Rühmann & Band – the actor and musician from "In aller Freundschaft" (ARD) with "the small and big stories of life" in poetic song form
- Classic Brothers with Charles Shaw – Trio performing R&B, Soul, Funk, and Pop; Shaw became known as the voice of the scandalous band Milli Vanilli
Market and Atmosphere
Accompanying the stage program, a historical market village will open on the Kirchplatz: blacksmiths, woodturners, basket weavers, food stalls with regional dishes, bratwurst, beer from Schlossgut Liebenberg, and lemonades. The festival promises "a varied evening" with a historical atmosphere and musical diversity.
Kremmen – Town between Berlin and Oberhavel
Kremmen is located northwest of Berlin in the Oberhavel district. First documented in 1216, the town is one of Brandenburg's traditional medieval foundations. Kremmen is famous for its Scheunenviertel-Markt (Barn Quarter Market), a large historical antique and flea market held every weekend. The 810th-anniversary celebration commemorates this long history.
