A City Anniversary with 800 Years of History

Festival Week and Stage Program
For several days, Wittenburg will transform into a festival mile: stage programs, live music, street festivals, culinary stands with regional specialties, and family activities will characterize the event. Spectacular shows, fireworks, and a laser show in front of the historic city wall will provide the grand moments of the anniversary year.
The Grand Parade
The highlight of the festival week is the grand parade: around 60 parade scenes will trace Wittenburg's history – from its Slavic origins and city founding through the Middle Ages to the early modern period. Brass bands, historic vehicles, and carriages will complement the procession, which is organized by numerous clubs and groups from the city.
