150 Years Volunteer Fire Brigade

The Volunteer Fire Brigade Liessow was founded in 1876 — today it is one of the four local brigades of the town of Laage in the Rostock district. The 150th anniversary in 2026 will be celebrated with a large day festival that brings together the entire village community and guests from surrounding areas.

Program

The day starts at 9:00 AM with the traditional 'Nass' (wet) firefighting competition, where brigades from the region compete against each other. At 1:00 PM, a vehicle parade of historical and current emergency vehicles will follow through the village. From 1:30 PM, technical demonstrations, public drills, a fire brigade fashion show, and many other program items will alternate. In the evening, the festival tent will host music and dancing.
