Over 120 nurseries and businesses transform Neuwied's city center into a sea of spring flowers
The Neuwied Garden Market is not a classic weekly market or a pure plant exchange, but a curated garden fair with cultural aspirations. Under the motto 'Cultural Space Garden,' the event sees itself as a platform where not only plants but also garden design, lifestyle, and connection to nature are discussed. Over 120 exhibitors from all over Germany and neighboring countries—especially from the Netherlands, Belgium, and France—present their plants, furniture, sculptures, tools, and specialties.
Classic perennials, roses, shrubs, and summer flowers can be found alongside rare plants, old fruit varieties, wild herbs, bonsai, container and Mediterranean plants, carnivorous plants, or rare hostas. Garden lighting, greenhouses, raised beds, birdhouses, hand-forged tools, ceramics, metal art, and natural stone works complement the offer. Floristry workshops and demonstrations round off the program.
The Sunday of the Garden Market is a shopping Sunday in Neuwied, strengthening the connection between the market street and the city center's retail trade. Cafés, restaurants, and fashion stores are open, complementing the plant purchases with a stroll through the city.
To ensure visitors can easily transport larger perennials, small trees, or furniture, the city of Neuwied offers an organized plant transport service that commutes between market stalls and parking lots.
The weekend of April 11–12, 2026, promises a spring festival for all garden enthusiasts in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Westerwald, and the Eifel. For two days, the main streets of Neuwied's city center will be reserved for the market. A plant transport service, free admission, and an additional shopping Sunday will make travel and shopping easier.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the city of Neuwied in spring 2026 on neuwied.de/gartenmarkt. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
