1060 Years of Börde History

Dreileben is a district of the municipality Wanzleben-Börde in the Börde district, nestled in Germany's most fertile farmland. The village's history dates back to 966 — leading to the proud 1060th anniversary in 2026. Such old village histories are rare — and the residents of Dreileben are celebrating their anniversary with a three-day festival weekend from June 26th to 28th, 2026.

On the Agricultural Cooperative Grounds

The festival grounds are the large grounds of the Dreileben agricultural cooperative on Bahnhofstraße — fitting for a village that draws its identity significantly from agriculture. All program points will take place here: festival tent, stage, parade assembly area, carousel. The organizers are the local council and a festival committee of dedicated citizens.

Saturday Highlight — Parade at 11 AM

The program highlight is the parade on Saturday, June 27th, at 11 AM. Dreileben clubs, schools, the fire department, the local community, and friendly fire departments will march through the village — with floats, traditional costume groups, and music bands. In the evening, the festival celebration will follow with the Danny Priebe Band, one of the region's best-known party bands, as well as a DJ night until late into the night. Another highlight: the fire show at dusk.

Line Dancing by the Texas Outlaws

A special feature on Sunday: a performance by the Linedance Texas Outlaws, a regional dance group that invites the audience to join in with country choreographies in the festival tent. In addition, there will be family entertainment with face painting, a bouncy castle, and bratwurst. In the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the 1060th anniversary is one of the rare, truly major village anniversaries — hardly any other village in the Bördeland region can boast such a history.
