A Century of Club Sports in the Elbe-Havel Region
Founded in Klietz in 1926, SV Germania Klietz is one of the traditional sports clubs in the Stendal district (AGS 15090). 100 years of club history means: two world wars, four political systems, countless generations of Klietz children who learned football, volleyball, and gymnastics here. Today, SV Germania is a multi-sport club with football, a gymnastics section, table tennis, and senior sports, firmly anchored in Klietz village culture.
The Anniversary Festival on August 22, 2026
The 100th anniversary will be celebrated with a festival day on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Waldschenke Klietz festival grounds. The day combines classic club formats: sports competitions and exhibition tournaments in the morning and afternoon, activities for children, and in the evening, a formal ceremony with honors for long-standing members, followed by live music or a DJ program in the festival tent. A Volksfest (public festival) in its own club tradition — and an occasion for the whole village to come together again.
Klietz and the Elbe-Havel Region
Klietz is located in northeastern Saxony-Anhalt in the Elbe-Havel region, approx. 100 km northeast of Magdeburg. Those arriving from Berlin or Magdeburg can combine the anniversary festival with a nature experience in the Elbe-Brandenburg Heath Nature Park or a bike tour along the Elbe.
