Zwewwelfescht Zeiskam

The Zwewwelfescht Zeiskam is part of the rich culinary festival culture of the Southern Palatinate and belongs to the series of onion festivals traditionally celebrated in several Southern Palatinate municipalities. Zeiskam is located in the Bellheim collective municipality and is surrounded by agricultural land where onions, among other things, have been cultivated for centuries.

Fuchsbachhalle Venue

The Fuchsbachhalle is the community and club center of Zeiskam and is transformed into a culinary festival ground for the Zwewwelfescht. Catering counters and pavilions are set up in and around the hall, and long wooden beer benches invite convivial lingering.

Onion Specialties

The focus is on Palatinate onion specialties: onion cake (Zwiebelkuchen)—a type of quiche with thinly rolled yeast dough, filled with sautéed onions, sour cream, bacon, and caraway seeds, freshly prepared in the club ovens. In addition, Palatinate-style onion soup, fried onion rings, onion sausage, and occasionally stuffed onions. The fitting accompaniment is young Federweißer (if available) or classic Palatinate wine, especially Riesling and Grauburgunder.

Program

The program is deliberately kept simple—culinary enjoyment and social gathering are the focus. Local music groups, brass bands, or acoustic acts perform on a small stage. There are small games and activities for children.
