Synchronised fireworks along the Usedom coast
The idea behind the XXL Strandfeuerwerk is as simple as it is effective: instead of igniting fireworks at a single location, several seaside resorts along the Usedom coast coordinate their displays to go off simultaneously. Anyone standing on the beach on October 3rd will see multiple bursts of light over the Baltic Sea, depending on their viewing angle, which together form a picture across Germany's longest beach promenade.
Koserow is one of the central observation points: the beach promenade directly in front of the new pier offers an unobstructed view of the Baltic Sea and simultaneously allows views of neighbouring seaside resorts. Other locations with their own fireworks include Karlshagen in the northwest of the island, as well as other resorts in the collective.
The date, October 3rd, is deliberately chosen: the public holiday extends the weekend and traditionally attracts many visitors to the island. The XXL Strandfeuerwerk feels like the culmination of the main season and marks the transition into the quieter island autumn.
The tourism associations of the Bernsteinbäder Usedom (Koserow, Zempin, Loddin, Ückeritz) and other Usedom seaside resorts coordinate the individual fireworks. The programme, exact time, and location will be announced in detail in the event calendar on bernsteinbaeder-usedom.de and koserow.m-vp.de.
The XXL Usedomer Strandfeuerwerk on German Unity Day 2026 is listed in the event calendar of the Bernsteinbäder Usedom and on koserow.m-vp.de for October 3rd. The appeal of this format lies in the simultaneous ignition at multiple locations along the Usedom beach promenade — including Koserow and Karlshagen — as well as in other seaside resorts. Those watching from the Koserow beach promenade will see neighbouring fireworks rise in parallel over the Baltic Sea, depending on the viewing direction. The specific start time and viewing points will be updated in advance on bernsteinbaeder-usedom.de and koserow.m-vp.de.
Constant elements — exact times for 2026 will be published by the tourism associations before the date:
