Wunstorf Marksmen's Tradition

Wunstorf, the town by Lake Steinhude, is home to a vibrant marksmen's scene. The Civic Marksmen's Festival – as the central festival for all Wunstorf marksmen – opens the season, followed by seven local marksmen's festivals in the other districts (Bokeloh, Idensen, Klein Heidorn, Liethe, Luthe, Steinhude, and others). A total of seven local marksmen's festivals will take place in 2026; the Civic Marksmen's Festival is their kickoff.

Friday, June 5, 2026

• 2:30 PM – Grand Children's Marksmen's Festival with around 800 children in a parade through Wunstorf
• Evening: Live band deep passion in the festival tent

Saturday, June 6, 2026

• 2:30 PM – Grand parade of the marksmen through the city center
• from 7:00 PM – Marksmen's festival dinner in the festival tent
• Following: Dance evening with live music

Sunday, June 7, 2026

• 12:00 PM – Civic Breakfast in the festival tent
• Free admission for all Wunstorf residents
• Afternoon: Family program
• Evening: Wind-down

Children's Marksmen's Festival as a Hallmark

The Children's Marksmen's Festival on Friday is a special feature of Wunstorf. With around 800 participating children, it is one of the largest children's marksmen's events in the region. The children parade through the town in uniform, with their own flags and marching bands, and are then invited to their own festival program.

Festival Grounds and Wunstorf

The Wunstorf festival grounds offer a festival tent, shooting range, and amusement rides. The city center with Auestadt, Sigwardskirche, and the Auepromenade is in close proximity. Wunstorf is very well connected to Hanover via the S-Bahn lines S 1 / S 2.
