Festively illuminated pedestrian zone with around 60 decorated stalls, family program in the NEULAND Christmas House, and stage performances from late November until just before New Year's Eve.
From November 23 to December 29, 2026, the Wolfsburg Christmas Market transforms the city center around Porschestraße, Hugo-Bork-Platz, and Rothenfelder Straße into a festively lit market landscape. Around 60 lovingly decorated stalls offer arts and crafts, regional specialties, mulled wine, and winter treats. The organizer is Wolfsburg Marketing GmbH (WMG), which curates a diverse stage program annually.
The NEULAND Christmas House is at the heart of the event, featuring a free hands-on program for children and seniors: crafting, interactive theater, puppet shows, and storytelling sessions are all part of the offerings, as are after-work parties and communal Christmas carols. A central volunteer stand will support the market from November 24 to December 23.
Wolfsburg is one of those young Lower Saxony cities that consciously stages its Christmas market as a meeting place for the community. The mix of Volkswagen metropolis, lively pedestrian zone, and proximity to the castle creates a unique atmosphere: urban, modern, yet family-friendly. Between Porschestraße, Hugo-Bork-Platz, and Rothenfelder Straße, three interconnected market islands are created each year, inviting visitors to stroll and linger.
The approximately 60 wooden stalls are uniformly designed and decorated with fir greenery, fairy lights, and winter decorations. The assortment ranges from arts and crafts and gift items to candles, jewelry, and woolen goods, as well as classic market favorites like candied almonds, fried pastries, potato pancakes, bratwurst, crêpes, and mulled wine. Non-alcoholic alternatives such as children's punch, hot chocolate, and alcohol-free apple mulled wine are also available.
One of the hallmarks of the Wolfsburg Christmas Market is the Christmas House, supported by the housing company NEULAND. It hosts a continuous free program: crafting activities, small theater performances, puppet shows, storytelling, and fairy tales for children; in the afternoons, coffee hours and sing-alongs for seniors. This social component clearly distinguishes the market from purely commercial concepts.
School and kindergarten choirs, local bands, after-work parties with DJ sets, and contemplative Christmas carol singing alternate on the Christmas market stage. Storytelling sessions, Advent sing-alongs, and small concerts are part of the regular repertoire. Between November 24 and December 23, WMG also manages a volunteer stand where clubs, initiatives, and social organizations from the city present themselves.
The market is integrated into a whole Advent and winter landscape: in parallel, the Winter Magic at the Autostadt, the Fallersleben Christmas Magic in the castle courtyard, and the Vorsfelde Christmas Market at the Ütschenpaul monument invite visitors to stroll. Those who wish to visit multiple markets can easily travel between the city center and the districts by train, bus, or bicycle.
The 2026 edition of the Wolfsburg Christmas Market opens on November 23 and runs until December 29. In the city center, along Porschestraße, Hugo-Bork-Platz, and Rothenfelder Straße, around 60 festively decorated stalls will be set up, complemented by a stage program and the NEULAND Christmas House.
The exact daily program for 2026 will be published by WMG in the spring and summer. The structure will follow the proven cornerstones of previous years: afternoon crafting sessions, storytelling hours, Advent sing-alongs, after-work parties, and performances by regional choirs and bands.
Wolfsburg's city center Christmas market focuses on a clear spatial division into three market islands, a uniform stall concept, and a free hands-on program. This positions the city between a traditional Advent market and an urban winter experience.
On the central stage, school and kindergarten choirs, brass ensembles, pop acts, and DJ sets alternate. The NEULAND Christmas House offers a continuous program for children and seniors; a volunteer stand accompanies the market from November 24 to December 23, showcasing clubs and social initiatives.
The complete daily program for 2026 will be published by WMG shortly before the market opens. The structure will follow the proven cornerstones of previous years:
