The Erntefest Bohmte is one of the traditional harvest festivals in the municipality on the southern edge of the Wiehengebirge. In a region that is historically and still agriculturally shaped today, the Erntefest holds its important social and cultural function: celebrating the end of harvest work and expressing gratitude for the agricultural contribution to supply.

The 2026 edition will take place on Sunday, September 6. The one-day format focuses on an intensive day of celebration with a clearly structured program — from the morning harvest service to the evening winding down.

Farmers' Market and Regional Products

The focus is on the Farmers' Market with direct marketers from the region: seasonal fruits and vegetables, potatoes, honey, eggs, meat and sausage products, cheese and dairy products, baked goods, juices, and apple wine. The market stalls offer the opportunity to buy regional food directly from the producer — a form of direct marketing that has regained significant importance in recent years.

Harvest Crown and Customs

A classic element is the Harvest Crown — a creation woven from grain ears, flowers, and ribbons, symbolizing the harvest season. A festive parade with harvest wagons, a tractor convoy, and participating clubs visibly brings rural customs into the community.

Music and Cozy Atmosphere

Musical accompaniment by brass bands, regional folk groups, or traditional musicians accompanies the day. A cake bazaar, coffee stand, and hearty snack offerings ensure culinary provisions. The proceeds from sales often benefit local clubs or charitable causes.
