The Wolfenbüttel May Festival is more than a classic city festival. Wine Festival on the Stadtmarkt

The heart of the festival is the wine festival on the Stadtmarkt. Winemakers from German wine regions – particularly from Franken, Rheinhessen, and Mosel – present their wines in classic tasting booths. This is complemented by culinary stands offering cheese, sausage specialties, tarte flambée, and sweet temptations. The atmosphere on the Stadtmarkt – framed by historic burgher houses – makes the wine festival one of the most charming events in the Lower Saxony festival calendar.

Brass Party Berlin and Musical Program

On Saturday evening, Brass Party Berlin will get the city center moving – a groovy brass ensemble that combines pop, jazz, and Eastern European brass music into a danceable mix. Throughout the weekend, singer-songwriters, acoustic acts, and smaller ensembles will perform on various stages.

Sunday Shopping

The festival concludes with Sunday shopping, with stores open from 1 PM to 6 PM. Wolfenbüttel's retailers showcase their best side on this day: boutiques, bookstores, small manufactories, and established shops invite visitors with special offers, tastings, and promotions. The May Festival thus ends in a typical Wolfenbüttel blend of enjoyment, shopping, and social interaction.
