Wine Festival in the Falkenhof Setting

The Winzerfest Rheine is one of the three annual city festivals in Rheine (alongside the Spring Festival and the Autumn Fair) and traditionally falls in early summer. In 2026, it will take place from June 11th to 13th – Thursday to Saturday – on the parvis of the Falkenhof Museum at Tiefen Straße 22, right in the center of Rheine. The historic setting of a 17th-century noble villa meets wine enjoyment – a format that is sponsored by Stadtsparkasse Rheine, ensuring free admission.

Thursday, June 11th, 2026 — Soft-Opening

• 7:00 PM Soft-Opening with DJ Team Wavemeiers
• First wine service, relaxed opening atmosphere

Friday, June 12th, 2026 — Main Festival Day

• 5:00 PM Official opening with acoustic music duo (live music, relaxed)
• 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM Free 15-minute tours of the Falkenhof Museum
• 8:00 PM Presentation and public tasting of the "Wine of the Year 2026 for Rheine" – the annually chosen wine, which will be served in Rheine for the following 12 months
• Program until late into the night

Saturday, June 13th, 2026 — Festival Day

• From 3:00 PM Get-Together with drinks, music, and a relaxed atmosphere
• 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM Falkenhof tours again
• Program until late into the night

The Wine of the Year

A clever marketing idea: Every year, a "Wine of the Year for Rheine" is presented and tasted as part of the wine festival. This wine is then particularly highlighted in Rheine's gastronomy and tourism marketing in the following period. Those who attend the wine festival are among the first to officially taste and purchase the wine.

Falkenhof Museum — Historic Noble Villa

The venue is the Falkenhof Museum, a historic noble villa of the Lords of Beverförde, now a city museum with Rheine's city and regional history. During the wine festival, admission to the museum is free; additionally, there are guided 15-minute tours on Friday and Saturday at 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM respectively. A wonderful opportunity to combine wine, history, and atmosphere in one event.

Rheine — Central Town on the Ems

With the Winzerfest, the Herbstkirmes (October), and the Frühlingsfest, Rheine has an established trio of city festivals. The city of 77,000 inhabitants in the northern Münsterland uses its historic city center as a stage – Falkenhof Museum, market square, and Ems bridges are utilized throughout the year. The Winzerfest is the quietest of the three – an urban wine festival feel in a noble villa setting.
