About Wincheringer Kirmes
The Wincheringer Kirmes is one of the traditional village festivals of the Obermosel (Upper Moselle). From June 27th to 29th, 2026, the centre of Wincheringen will be transformed into a festival ground with wine stands, food stalls, showman attractions, and live music. The event is organised by the municipality of Wincheringen in close cooperation with local clubs and wineries.
Wincheringen is located in the Trier-Saarburg district in the Saarburg-Kell administrative district, directly on the Moselle opposite the Luxembourgish bank. This location shapes both the wine-growing tradition (with the Elbling grape, typical for the Upper Moselle, as a speciality) and the cross-border character of many festivals: it is common for visitors from Remich and the Luxembourgish Moselle, as well as from Saarburg and Trier, to come to the Kirmes.
In terms of content, the Kirmes combines wine service from local family wineries (see also 'Kellertage' in May), regional dishes, live music with local bands and guest ensembles, and a family programme with carousels and activities for children. It thus follows the classic format of Moselle village fairs: a festival that involves the entire village community while also appealing to external guests.
The exact detailed programme will be published shortly on wincheringen.de. Admission to the festival grounds is free; only food, drinks, and rides will be charged. Wincheringen is accessible via the L 132 from Saarburg and via the Moselle bridge from Luxembourg.

The 2026 edition continues the proven three-day format.
Early arrival is recommended on Saturday evening, as the live music traditionally attracts the largest number of visitors.

The exact 2026 programme will be published by the organiser in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
- Sat, June 27th: Opening of the Kirmes, festival activities in the evening with live music.
- Sun, June 28th: Morning pint, family afternoon, festival activities in the afternoon and evening.
- Mon, June 29th: Wind-down with local morning pint, possibly further musical contributions.
- Wines: Elbling, Riesling, Burgundy from Wincheringen wineries.
- Gastronomy: Regional specialities of the Upper Moselle, classic festival dishes.
- Showmen: Carousel and smaller rides for children.
