The Weiße Schlossweihnacht is the atmospheric Christmas market in the courtyard of the Residenzschloss Sondershausen, the former capital of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen. In the Kyffhäuser district, the historic castle courtyard transforms into a winter wonderland for the whole family daily from mid to late December, from 2 PM to 9 PM. Around 20 craft stalls with handmade gifts, culinary specialties, and regional products, a stage program with music ensembles and show dance groups, a 200 m² ice rink, and special guided tours of the castle museum make the market one of the most romantic castle Christmas markets in Thuringia.

The 2026 Weiße Schlossweihnacht will take place from December 18th to 29th in the castle courtyard of the Residenzschloss Sondershausen. Daily from 2 PM to 9 PM (closed on Christmas Eve). Features a 200 m² ice rink, around 20 market stalls, a stage program, and special guided tours of the castle museum.

The 4th edition of the Weiße Schlossweihnacht builds on the success of previous years. The historic castle courtyard is transformed into a winter wonderland with elaborate light installations, a 200 m² ice rink, and around 20 market stalls.
