Werler Streetfood Festival 2026 — three days of indulgence at the market square

From May 29 to 31, 2026, the Streetfood Festival will once again stop at the Werler Marktplatz. For three days, the cobblestones between St. Petrikirche and the town hall will be densely populated with food trucks, mobile kitchens, and pop-up bars. The organizer is Wirtschaftsring Werl e.V., which has established one of the first major early summer dates in the Soest district with this format.

Program

Three days at the market square

• Friday, May 29, 2026 — Opening in the afternoon, after-work atmosphere, live music in the evening
• Saturday, May 30, 2026 — Main operating day from midday to late evening, largest audience
• Sunday, May 31, 2026 — Cozy closing day with brunch options and family program

Culinary spectrum

The participating trucks usually cover a wide spectrum:

• Grill classics: Burgers (beef, vegan), pulled pork, bratwurst specialties, ribs
• Asian: Vietnamese bao buns, Banh Mi, Japanese gyoza, Pad Thai, sushi
• South American: Empanadas, tacos, Mexican quesadillas, Brazilian churrasco skewers
• Mediterranean: grilled halloumi, falafel, Greek specialties
• Sweets: Crêpes, donuts, churros, ice cream
• Drinks: Craft beer, cocktail trucks, Hugo and Aperol, coffee specialties

Live music and festival atmosphere

A small stage will provide a relaxed festival mood on Friday and Saturday evenings. Singer-songwriters, acoustic acts, and occasional DJ sets will accompany the culinary offerings — free admission, seating on beer benches between the trucks and in front of the surrounding cafes.

Werl — the pilgrimage town in the Soest district

The town of Werl, with around 30,000 inhabitants, is located in the west of the Soest district, on the edge of the Soester Börde. The town is primarily known as a pilgrimage site — the Propsteikirche with the image of grace of the Comforter of the Afflicted attracts around 600,000 pilgrims annually. The historic market square with the neoclassical town hall and St. Petrikirche forms the lively center of the town and is a regular venue for festivals such as the Siederfest, the Bierfest, the Weihnachtsmarkt, or the Streetfood Festival.

Wirtschaftsring Werl e.V.

The Wirtschaftsring Werl e.V. is the initiative of the local business community, based at Steinerstraße 41. It brings together around 200 Werl companies and organizes the most important city festivals and Sundays with extended shopping hours. The Streetfood Festival, the Hollandmarkt, Moonlight Shopping, and the Münztag are among the annual highlights from their program. Registrations for food truck operators are handled directly through the office.
