Gerolstein lacht – Street Theatre (June)

The June edition of Gerolstein lacht repeats the proven concept of the spring edition and moves it to the summer. Walking acts, street art, and Sunday shopping combine to create an atmospheric family Sunday in the city centre.

Street Theatre in Summer

Compared to the March date, the June edition benefits from more daylight, higher temperatures, and the typical summer mood of the Eifel town. The walking acts perform outdoors more often, outdoor cafés are full, and the city centre unfolds its Mediterranean summer charm.

Performers and Programme

As with the other editions, the performers are spread throughout the city centre:

• Stilt walkers roam the pedestrian zone, creating surprising encounters.
• Magicians present close-up tricks in the squares.
• Jesters from local carnival clubs provide a Rhenish-Eifel atmosphere.
• Comedians improvise with passers-by.
• Costumed figures surprise at the fountain or in the shops.

Sunday Shopping

Accompanying this, retail shops will be open from 12 PM to 5 PM. Fashion, shoes, jewellery, toys, books, drugstore items – the Daun retail sector presents its summer offerings. Cafés and restaurants complement this with outdoor seating.

GeroTeam e.V.

The GeroTeam e.V. association (Gerolstein Business Association) is the organiser of the Gerolstein lacht event series and shapes the city marketing with other initiatives such as Heimat Shoppen and the Christmas Treff. Its office at Bahnhofstr. 4 is also a point of contact for members and interested parties.

Family Programme in the Vulkaneifel

The event is an ideal family outing. Combined with a walk along the Kyll river or a visit to the surrounding Eifel villages, it makes for a perfect Vulkaneifel summer Sunday.
