Werdohler Stadtfest

One Day, One City Center, One Festival

The Werdohler Stadtfest is consistent in its format: a single day, the entire city center of the small Sauerland town becomes the festival grounds. The organizer is the City of Werdohl in cooperation with the local city marketing and the clubs. The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026 — from 12:00 PM until 1:00 AM on Sunday morning.

Live Music, Stages, and Club Life

On several stages in the city center, dance groups, children's choirs, and local club performances alternate during the day. In the evening, live bands from the Märkischer Kreis and the Sauerland region take over — cover bands, regional singer-songwriters, and occasionally external guests create the atmosphere. The small, intimate stage locations give the Werdohler Stadtfest its character as a neighborhood event.

Clubs as the Core of Activities

The Werdohl clubs are the backbone of the city festival: sports clubs, carnival groups, marksmen's associations, church communities, children's and youth groups — all set up their own booths and offer homemade products, food, and interactive activities. This volunteer-led support makes the festival a true reflection of the city's club life.

Werdohl in the Lenne Valley

Werdohl is a town in the Märkischer Kreis region of Sauerland with around 18,000 inhabitants, located in the narrow Lenne valley between Plettenberg and Altena. The town is known as an industrial center for the wire industry — Werdohl belongs to the German wire metropolis, with plants like Vossloh and WDI. The city festival combines the former industrial identity with the city's current transformation into a livable residential location in Sauerland.
