Weinmeile Oldenburg

The Weinmeile is Oldenburg's summer wine festival on the Waffenplatz — a square that, with its urban flair and proximity to the city center, offers an ideal ambiance for the open-air wine bar. For four August days, vintners, restaurateurs, and wine lovers gather under the open sky.

Six Vintners from Four Countries

The selection of vintners is deliberately focused on four wine-growing countries: France, Italy, Austria, and Germany. Thus, the Weinmeile covers central European growing regions. The exhibitors primarily present medium-sized and smaller wineries that value direct contact with their customers.

Champagne and Crémant Bar

A special highlight is the champagne and crémant bar, which complements the classic wine offerings with festive sparkling wines. Here, visitors can specifically taste champagne from Champagne, crémant from Alsace, the Loire Valley, or Burgundy.

Four Oldenburg Restaurateurs

Four selected Oldenburg restaurateurs provide the culinary accompaniment. The offerings range from small dishes for wine tasting to full meals for an extended summer evening.

Live Music

Acoustic live music accompanies the evenings — usually in small, unobtrusive formats that do not overpower conversations over wine glasses. Jazz, Bossa Nova, singer-songwriter, and French chanson are among the common styles.

Atmosphere on the Waffenplatz

The Waffenplatz is centrally located, within walking distance of the city center, and with its surrounding buildings, offers a more intimate atmosphere than the large Schlossplatz. The high tables and seating invite lingering and encounters.
