About Schoppentage am Rosenberg

The "Schoppentage am Rosenberg" are the modernized version of the traditional Frankenwinheim wine festival. Since 2022, the festival of SV 1928 Frankenwinheim has been held under this name and invites visitors every year at the end of July to the sports grounds at Rosenberg, above the vineyards in the middle of the Steigerwald. For four days, there are selected Franconian wines in Bocksbeutel bottles, refreshing wine cocktails, beer specialties from the Düll brewery, hearty specialties from the club stand, and homemade cakes at the coffee bar – plus live music, a family program, and on the final day, the traditional football match with fireworks.

Frankenwinheim and the Steigerwald

Frankenwinheim is a wine-growing community in the Schweinfurt district, nestled between the Volkach Main loop and the Steigerwald. The Rosenberg above the village gives the festival its name and hosts the club's sports grounds. This is where SV 1928 Frankenwinheim holds its annual wine festival, which has borne the name "Schoppentage am Rosenberg" since 2022 – a deliberate modernization of the classic wine festival.

Bocksbeutel, Cocktails, and Franconian Cuisine

The heart of the Schoppentage is the Rosenberg Lounge: brightly lit pagoda tents where selected Bocksbeutel wines and refreshing wine cocktails can be tasted in a relaxed atmosphere. Those who prefer hops will find beer specialties from the Düll brewery on all days. Hearty specialties are prepared at the club stand, and homemade cakes are available at the coffee bar.

Four-Day Program

The festival runs from Friday to Monday: Opening on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday with a music program and family activities, a festive church service on Sunday morning, and traditionally a football match by the SV on Monday, followed by fireworks to conclude the festival. The Schoppentage are among the most popular wine festivals in the Schweinfurt district.

Club with Tradition

SV 1928 Frankenwinheim is the main organizer of the festival. The sports club finances a large part of its youth and club work with the proceeds from the festival. A true village affair, where the whole village pitches in.
