Weinfest Jever
Young wine festival on the Alter Markt of the Frisian Hanseatic city
2026
About Weinfest Jever
Weinfest Jever — edition 2026
After the successful premiere, the 2026 edition builds on the proven concept of previous years. The selection of vintners is to be expanded, and the musical program is to be deepened. The festival positions itself as a modern, wine-affine format in the Frisian Hanseatic city – with a clear connection to the culture of enjoyment, without losing the down-to-earth nature of the region.
In the run-up, the participating vintners and wine merchants will be presented on the city of Jever's website; special events such as guided tastings are also in preparation.

Premiere 2025, Continuation 2026
With the inaugural edition in September 2025, the city of Jever launched a format that met with great interest. The concept combines the enthusiasm for German and international wines with the unique atmosphere of the Alter Markt – one of the most beautiful squares in the Frisian Hanseatic city, framed by historic gabled houses and just a stone's throw from the castle.
Wines and Vintners
White wines, red wines, rosé wines, and sparkling wines from classic German growing regions – from Rheingau to Mosel to Pfalz – are offered, complemented by selected international vintages. The wine merchants provide information on cultivation, character, and pairing, so the festival can be both a culinary pleasure and a wine school.
Culinary Delights and Live Music
The restaurateurs on the Alter Markt, as well as invited caterers, complement the wine offerings with suitable dishes – tarte flambée, cheese platters, tapas, and Frisian specialties. Musicians provide the right atmosphere on the small stage with acoustic concerts, jazz, or chanson. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the great wine festivals of the Pfalz, translated into the soberly beautiful style of Northern Germany.
Location and Target Audience
With Jever as the venue, a solvent, wine-interested clientele from Wangerland, Wilhelmshaven, and the entire Friesland region is specifically targeted. Day-trippers from Oldenburg and Bremen are also welcome due to the good connection via the A29 motorway.
