Four-day Pentecost wine festival in the Volkspark with Palatinate wines and live music
Kaiserslautern's Volkspark is one of the most beautiful parks in the West Palatinate, with old trees, wide meadows, and the historic concert shell as its architectural centerpiece. The concert shell, an open stage in the classic concert pavilion style, offers ideal acoustics for open-air concerts and is the natural center for Wein im Park. Holding a glass of Palatinate wine here on a Pentecost evening while listening to the music offers one of the most relaxed festival atmospheres in the region.
Wein im Park is clearly positioned as a wine festival: Palatinate wines are the focus, served by selected vintners from the growing region between Bad Dürkheim and the Southern Wine Route. Palatinate specialties – Saumagen, Bratwurst, Flammkuchen, Wein-Brot, Käsewürfel, Trauben – complement the gastronomic offerings. Pentecost is traditionally the peak season for early wine festivals in the Palatinate, and Wein im Park takes full advantage of this timing.
The 2026 music program is varied: The band Mondays brings Italian music to the park, perfect for the southern Pentecost mood. Fairplay covers 80s and 90s hits, and DJ Tony B spins in the evening. Hoselatz plays the traditional Palatinate morning pint on Pentecost Sunday morning. This musical diversity appeals to a broad audience, from families in the afternoon to the younger crowd in the evening.
Admission to Wein im Park is free – part of Kaiserslautern's city festival culture that such outdoor events are open to everyone. In 2026, Pentecost falls during the intensive phase of the 750th city anniversary year, making it part of the comprehensive 750kl program. Wein im Park has been a reliable Pentecost date for years and attracts thousands of visitors to the Volkspark.
