Open Cellar Days on Pentecost in the twin village of Maring-Noviand in the Liesertal valley
While numerous large Hoffeste (yard festivals) take place on the Middle Mosel during Pentecost – such as the Zeltingen Wine Experience Days or the Open Cellars in Ürzig – Maring-Noviand offers a more compact, smaller, and quieter version with its Open Cellar Days. Its location in the Liesertal valley, away from the main Mosel axis, contributes to the relaxed atmosphere.
On Pentecost Sunday, May 24th, and Pentecost Monday, May 25th, 2026, the vintners of Maring-Noviand will open their cellars and wine shops. Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Weißburgunder, and Spätburgunder will be the focus. The wines will be accompanied by regional dishes from Mosel cuisine – Flammkuchen, Bratwurst, Winzervesper (vintner's snack), cheese platters, and sweet specialties.
As Maring-Noviand is smaller than the major Mosel wine villages, the festival offers a particularly close encounter with the vintner families. Those who want to not only drink wine but also understand and compare it will find ideal conditions here for in-depth conversations.
The Liesertal valley is a popular hiking area. Those who wish to combine the Open Cellar Days with a hike will find numerous signposted routes that can be easily combined with the festival stops.
The 2026 edition follows the proven concept. The participating yards coordinate their opening hours while maintaining their individual atmosphere and food menus.
On both days, visitors can move between the yards at their own pace and experience the Liesertal valley during the Pentecost season.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of Middle Mosel Hoffeste (yard festivals) on Pentecost:
The current list of participating vintners will be published on the website of the local community of Maring-Noviand.
