Festival of Enjoyment in the Heart of Düren

Wein im Park is the young, international wine festival of the city of Düren in the Rhenish district of Düren. After a celebrated debut edition in 2025, the festival returns from Wednesday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 7th, 2026 to Willy-Brandt-Park — the city's green lung between the Rur riverbank and the old town. Admission is free, and the concept combines wine, culture, art, and family in a park atmosphere rarely found in North Rhine-Westphalia.

When does the festival take place?

  • Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 — 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Opening)
  • Thursday, June 4th, 2026 — 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Friday, June 5th, 2026 — 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Saturday, June 6th, 2026 — 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Sunday, June 7th, 2026 — 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

What awaits you?

Wine Tastings from Around the World

In the park, you'll find tasting booths from international winemakers: German classics (Riesling, Spätburgunder, Silvaner) meet vintages from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and overseas. Plus, Champagne, Crémants, sparkling wine, and non-alcoholic alternatives. Tasting glasses are included with admission; bottle purchases are possible directly at the stands.

International Pétanque Tournament

A sporting highlight of the festival: the international pétanque tournament. Teams from the Düren district, the Aachen region, Belgium, and the Netherlands compete in the park grounds — a relaxed, Mediterranean competition with a glass of wine in hand.

KunsTraum an der Rur — the Old City Nursery

The historic Alte Stadtgärtnerei (Old City Nursery) right on the festival grounds becomes an art stage: under the label "KunsTraum an der Rur", artists from the Rhineland exhibit their work, lead workshops (painting, ceramics, textile art), and invite you to performances.

Children's and Family Program

The festival explicitly positions itself as a family festival: children's circus, clowns, craft and painting workshops, face painting stations, and small participatory concerts. Parents can taste wine while the children experience the park as a playground.

Live Music and Jazz

On the main stage in the park, bands and solo artists perform daily — with a focus on Jazz, Acoustic, Soul, and Latin. The programming complements the relaxed park atmosphere and accompanies the tastings into the evening.

Culinary Delights

Food trucks and small stalls offer accompaniments to the wine: Rhenish classics, Italian street food, French tarts, vegetarian and vegan options, cheese platters, tapas. Picnic blankets on the lawn are explicitly welcome.

Willy-Brandt-Park as a Stage

With its old trees, pavilion, and proximity to the Rur river, Willy-Brandt-Park is one of the most beautiful city parks in the Rhenish region. With the festival, the park transforms into an open-air living room for five days, bringing a Mediterranean flair to southern North Rhine-Westphalia — and positioning Düren itself as a small, charming wine town.

Discover Düren — Düren District, NRW

Düren is the district town of the Kreis Düren (Düren District) in the administrative region of Cologne, located at the transition to the Voreifel. The city lies on the Rur river and is an ideal base for excursions into the Eifel, the Eifel National Park, or the Aachen region. Wein im Park is the perfect occasion for an extended weekend in the region.
