Salzgitter-Bad, with its market square, Trinitatiskirche, and half-timbered houses, is the most historic district of the city of Salzgitter. Against this backdrop, the Weihnachtstreff 2026 is set up – an Advent market that deliberately focuses on a convivial atmosphere and culinary diversity, distinguishing itself from the larger market in Lebenstedt through its intimate character.

Daily from 4 PM

The market opens at the end of November (exact date for 2026 to be announced by the Werbegemeinschaft), and closes on December 22, 2026. The opening hours are family-friendly: daily from 4 PM, allowing commuters after work, families in the late afternoon, and regional guests to gather in the evening.

Culinary Offerings

Characteristic of the Weihnachtstreff is its wide range of food and drinks. Classics like mulled wine in several varieties, Feuerzangenbowle, hot apple wine, and children's punch are offered alongside international specialties: Germknödel with vanilla sauce, Hungarian Lángos, crêpes, Belgian waffles, Silesian bratwurst, grilled cheese, vegan bowls. Local bakeries and confectioneries from Salzgitter-Bad offer Stollen, gingerbread, and cookies.

Stage and Socializing

The stage program is coordinated by the Werbegemeinschaft. Performances by school and church choirs, brass ensembles, the Salzgitter-Bad brass choir, solo singers, and small theater groups alternate. On selected days, fire artists or stilt walkers provide special highlights. Standing tables and patio heaters invite visitors to linger and chat – the market explicitly sees itself as a meeting point for residents and guests during the pre-Christmas season.
