Schützenverein Neuland and their Christmas Market
The Schützenverein Neuland e.V. organizes not only the traditional folk shooting festival in August but also the Christmas market on the 4th Advent weekend. This way, the club shapes the social life of the Neuland district throughout the year. The venue is the club's own Schützenplatz, which is decorated for Christmas during the Advent season.
4th Advent Weekend — Pre-Christmas Atmosphere
The 4th Advent weekend is a rather unusual date for Christmas markets: most markets take place between the 1st and 3rd Advent. Neuland deliberately focuses on the immediate pre-Christmas accent — the market is the last social gathering before Christmas, where the village community prepares for the festive season.
North German Advent Specialties
The offerings focus on classic North German Advent specialties: Glühwein and Feuerzangenbowle as warming drinks, Neujahrskuchen as a regional specialty (the traditional crispy waffle rolls that are typical for the turn of the year in northwestern Lower Saxony and East Frisia), as well as other Christmas foods and delicacies.
