The Weihnachtsmarkt Beckum (Beckum Christmas Market) opts for a deliberately compact format: 11 days duration (November 27 to December 7), daily 5 to 8 PM. This sets it apart from the large 5–6-week markets in nearby major cities (Münster, Dortmund) and preserves a clear neighborhood festival character: the people of Beckum come in the evening after work, meet up, drink mulled wine, and leave again.

Beckum Market Square as the Venue

The venue is the Beckum Market Square in the town center – a classic Westphalian town square with the town hall, St. Stephanus parish church, and the typical brick architecture of the Münsterland region. During Advent, the square is decorated with light installations and fir trees, and the market stalls are concentrated around the fountain and along the main thoroughfares.

Beckum in the Warendorf District

Beckum, with around 37,000 inhabitants, is a town in the Warendorf district, located in the southeastern Münsterland. The town is a hub between Münster, Dortmund, and Bielefeld and is well connected via the A2 motorway and the Hamm–Beckum–Münster railway line. Economically, Beckum is primarily characterized by the cement industry – the "Westphalian cement industry" has its historical location here. Touristically, the town benefits from its location on the Beckum ridge and from the Bandwerk tradition (Drei Bäuerinnen).

Beckum City Marketing

The organizer is Stadtmarketing Beckum (Beckum City Marketing), which organizes the Christmas market as part of its annual program. According to the Beckum perspective, 2026 is "quite eventful" – with the town festival in Neubeckum (June 5–7), wine festival in Beckum (June 12–14), Pütt Days in the city center (September 4–6), and the Advent offering at the end of the year.
