Two weekends in 2026 — the 1st Advent from Friday, December 4th to Sunday, December 6th, and the 2nd Advent from Thursday, December 10th to Sunday, December 13th.

Two Weekends with a Clear Concept

The Velbert format is unusual: Instead of a continuously open Advent market, the city marketing department focuses on two compact weekends. This has advantages: higher visitor density during peak times, a more intense atmosphere, and simpler logistics for exhibitors and city marketing. The second weekend begins on Thursday at 5 PM — an extension for commuters who want to enjoy a mulled wine and a stroll through the district after work.

Program and Exhibitors

Stadtmarketing Velbert, as the organizer, coordinates the club and commercial exhibitors. The application deadline for participation in the 2026 Christmas market was June 15th, 2026 — clubs and commercial vendors could apply for stand sizes of 2 or 3 meters, with electricity and water connections. This separation ensures a balanced mix of offerings:

• Club stalls offering mulled wine, bratwurst, potato pancakes — proceeds go to club funds
• Commercial vendors selling gifts, jewelry, decorations, regional specialties
• Gastronomy featuring classics: roasted almonds, crêpes, waffles, bratwurst
