»Easter with a Sea View« — Easter Market, Torchlight Procession, and Easter Bonfire on the Beach
When the Easter Market opens in Warnemünde, the Baltic Sea resort begins its tourist season. Under the motto »Easter with a Sea View«, the promenade transforms into a small market mile: around 40 stalls line the route from the town center to the lighthouse and along the Old Stream. Regional crafts, local products, and culinary specialties are on offer — all against the backdrop of the beach, harbor, and Baltic Sea.
The Easter Market is explicitly aimed at families. Daily activities for children, a children's carousel, and a trampoline park at the lighthouse ensure variety. Strolling along the promenade combines the market experience with a spring walk by the water.
The highlight is Easter Saturday: in the evening, a grand torchlight procession sets off from the Alte Vogtei, musically accompanied by the band »Sharks Moove«. The procession leads to the beach, where the Warnemünde Volunteer Fire Brigade lights the traditional Easter bonfire in front of the iconic Teepott. Thousands of guests watch the spectacle — a tradition that belongs to Warnemünde as much as the lighthouse itself.
At the same time, the season begins at the Warnemünde Lighthouse: the landmark reopens to visitors who dare to climb it and enjoy the view over the beach, the bay, and the Baltic Sea. Easter thus marks the start of the season in Warnemünde in several ways.
From April 1 to 6, 2026, Warnemünde celebrates »Easter with a Sea View«. Around 40 stalls offering crafts, regional products, and culinary delights stretch along the promenade to the lighthouse and the Old Stream. A children's carousel and a trampoline park at the lighthouse provide family entertainment. The market is closed on Good Friday, April 3. The highlight is Easter Saturday with the torchlight procession and Easter bonfire.
Admission to the Easter Market and attendance at the Easter bonfire are free. A small entrance fee is charged for climbing the lighthouse.
Take the S-Bahn directly to Warnemünde station, then a few minutes' walk to the promenade and the lighthouse. By car via the B103; parking is scarce during the season — public transport is recommended.
The Easter Market opens at 11:00 AM or 11:30 AM on market days. The market is closed on Good Friday. The torchlight procession starts on Easter Saturday evening.
Don't miss the torchlight procession on Easter Saturday — and there's a small entrance fee for climbing the lighthouse.
