Northern Germany's largest Oktoberfest at Wandsbeker Markt
Wandsbek is not a Bavarian district — and that's precisely its charm: In the middle of one of Hamburg's largest districts, Northern Germany's largest Oktoberfest springs up every year for about two and a half weeks. Directly at the Wandsbek Markt transport hub, a festival tent with a capacity of 4,500 seats rises, accompanied by stalls, amusement rides, and a VIP lounge.
As it should be, original Spaten Oktoberfest beer flows by the liter (Maß). The menu features classics like pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe), half chickens (Hendl), Weißwurst with pretzels and sweet mustard, plus Kaiserschmarrn and apple strudel. For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, there are also alternatives and a separate cocktail menu.
Most guests come with table reservations — all tickets are available through the official website or Wandsbekeroktoberfest.ticket.io. Prices range from the Alpenglow package for eight people starting at €189 (Sunday–Thursday) to VIP box packages "Mountain Party" between €660 and €880. Tickets without reservations are free on Sundays through Thursdays, and cost €10 in advance or €12 at the door on Fridays and Saturdays, and on October 2nd. From 4 PM onwards on Fridays and Saturdays, there is an age restriction of 18 years.
With around 450,000 inhabitants, Wandsbek is Hamburg's largest district. The Oktoberfest has been a firm fixture in the event calendar for years, attracting guests from all over Northern Germany — including Bavaria fans, bachelor parties, and regulars' table groups.
