About Walsrode City Festival

The 10th Walsrode City Festival celebrates its anniversary from Friday, August 21st to Sunday, August 23rd, 2026. The Walsrode Marksmen's Corps has been organizing the city festival for ten years, transforming Walsrode's city center into a festival hub on the last weekend of August. The anniversary edition features a special program: a Culture Mile on Kastendieckweg brings together numerous Walsrode clubs and offers an interactive sound workshop. On Sunday at 2 PM, Circus Lilleput will perform, followed by Radau! – a rock music show for children – at 3 PM. This deliberately positions the city festival as family-friendly and suitable for children. The combination of the Marksmen's Corps tradition, the club mile, the cultural program, and child-friendly highlights makes the Walsrode City Festival a characteristic example of a small-town festival staging that has its roots in the club structure while simultaneously enlivening the city center.

Walsrode Marksmen's Corps as Organizer

The Walsrode Marksmen's Corps is one of the most traditional club organizations in Walsrode and has been the organizer of the Walsrode City Festival for ten years. The combination of a Marksmen's Corps and a city festival is unusual – many city festivals are organized by city marketing or business associations. However, this constellation has proven successful in Walsrode and gives the festival a firm anchor in the club structure.

Walsrode City Center as Festival Backdrop

The city festival extends across Walsrode's city center. The central streets and squares are used for stages, club stands, catering areas, and activity zones. Lange Straße 22 serves as the contact address for the Marksmen's Corps, while Kastendieckweg is the focal point of the Culture Mile.

Culture Mile on Kastendieckweg

The Culture Mile is a programmatic innovation for the 10th edition. On Kastendieckweg, Walsrode's cultural clubs, initiatives, and educational institutions present themselves with hands-on activities, performances, and information. An interactive sound workshop invites visitors to actively participate musically. This Culture Mile is an expression of the efforts to expand the city festival beyond classic folk festival (Volksfest) elements.

Circus Lilleput and Radau for Children

On Sunday afternoon, two family highlights take center stage. At 2 PM, Circus Lilleput performs – a family circus with classic circus acts in a manageable format. At 3 PM, Radau! follows – a rock music show specifically for children, combining energy and rock sound with child-friendly messages. These two highlights make Sunday afternoon particularly attractive for families.

Anniversary Edition with Growth

The 10th edition marks an anniversary. Over the past ten years, the Walsrode City Festival has developed from a small club event into an established city festival that attracts visitors from the entire Heidekreis region. The Walsrode Marksmen's Corps plans to continue developing the festival in the coming years.

Walsrode City Festival — edition 2026

The 10th edition of the Walsrode City Festival will take place from Friday, August 21st to Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, in Walsrode's city center. The Walsrode Marksmen's Corps is organizing three days of festivities with a stage program, club stands, and a Culture Mile on Kastendieckweg. The Culture Mile brings Walsrode clubs together and offers an interactive sound workshop. On Sunday at 2 PM, Circus Lilleput will perform, followed by Radau! Rock Music for Children at 3 PM. The detailed program will be published by the Marksmen's Corps in the summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years and offers an anniversary edition that honors the ten-year history of the city festival while setting new accents.

Three Festival Days for the Anniversary

The 2026 edition marks the 10th anniversary. With the Culture Mile and the Sunday highlights Circus Lilleput and Radau!, the anniversary edition takes on a special character.

Detailed Program to Follow

The exact stage acts and timings will be published by the Marksmen's Corps in the summer of 2026.
