10th Anniversary Edition with Culture Mile, Circus Lilleput and Radau Rock Music for Kids
The Walsrode Marksmen's Corps is one of the most traditional club organizations in Walsrode and has been the organizer of the Walsrode City Festival for ten years. The combination of a Marksmen's Corps and a city festival is unusual – many city festivals are organized by city marketing or business associations. However, this constellation has proven successful in Walsrode and gives the festival a firm anchor in the club structure.
The city festival extends across Walsrode's city center. The central streets and squares are used for stages, club stands, catering areas, and activity zones. Lange Straße 22 serves as the contact address for the Marksmen's Corps, while Kastendieckweg is the focal point of the Culture Mile.
The Culture Mile is a programmatic innovation for the 10th edition. On Kastendieckweg, Walsrode's cultural clubs, initiatives, and educational institutions present themselves with hands-on activities, performances, and information. An interactive sound workshop invites visitors to actively participate musically. This Culture Mile is an expression of the efforts to expand the city festival beyond classic folk festival (Volksfest) elements.
On Sunday afternoon, two family highlights take center stage. At 2 PM, Circus Lilleput performs – a family circus with classic circus acts in a manageable format. At 3 PM, Radau! follows – a rock music show specifically for children, combining energy and rock sound with child-friendly messages. These two highlights make Sunday afternoon particularly attractive for families.
The 10th edition marks an anniversary. Over the past ten years, the Walsrode City Festival has developed from a small club event into an established city festival that attracts visitors from the entire Heidekreis region. The Walsrode Marksmen's Corps plans to continue developing the festival in the coming years.
The 2026 edition marks the 10th anniversary. With the Culture Mile and the Sunday highlights Circus Lilleput and Radau!, the anniversary edition takes on a special character.
The exact stage acts and timings will be published by the Marksmen's Corps in the summer of 2026.
