Calau is a small town in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district, with just under 8,000 inhabitants. The town lies on the edge of the Spreewald and boasts a rich medieval heritage — St. Marien Church, its market architecture, and the historic Dunkelsburg (an old town prison and defensive structure). The Wallgarten — the open-air area around the Dunkelsburg — is an unusual cultural venue: monumental and historic on one hand, and an open space suitable for open-air events on the other.

Wallgarten Open-Air — Vol. 6, Electronic Music

The sixth edition of the Wallgarten Open-Air will take place in 2026 — the format has established itself in recent years as a small but curated electronic music festival in Niederlausitz. Unlike large electronic festivals (Antaris, Bucht der Träumer, Skalar in Frankfurt/Oder), the Wallgarten Open-Air is deliberately kept small — an event for the locals of Calau and the surrounding Niederlausitz region, not for mass tourism.

Program — from 9 PM to 3 AM

The festival hours are from 9 PM to 3 AM — a classic electronic festival span where the nocturnal dynamics of the music can unfold their full effect. The lineup is communicated by the organizer via their Facebook page; in previous years, regional and national DJs and live acts from the Techno, House, Ambient, and electronic improvisation genres have performed. The atmosphere at the Wallgarten is intimate — an event on the scale of a small club, but under the open sky.
