Running with a view of the Walhalla
The Walhallalauf in Donaustauf is one of the most popular fun runs in the Regensburg area. Start and finish are located at the Fürstengarten in Donaustauf (opposite Maxstraße 2). The flat, scenic routes lead along the Danube – with a view of the Walhalla, the famous classicist temple of glory, which towers high above the river and gives the run its name.
Courses for every level
The run offers distances for everyone: a Bambini run of 1.8 kilometers along the old canal in Donaustauf, as well as courses of 5, 7, and 10 kilometers. The 10- and 5-kilometer courses run along the Danube cycle path to the east with views of the Walhalla. Nordic Walking is also offered.
A run for families
The run, organized by SV Donaustauf, recently achieved a participant record with 925 active participants, including 334 children. The children's runs are completely free – a clear commitment to popular and family sports. This makes the Walhallalauf a sociable spring event for the entire region.
Donaustauf – District of Regensburg
Donaustauf is located in the District of Regensburg in the Bavarian administrative region of Upper Palatinate, east of the city of Regensburg on the Danube. The Walhalla, built by King Ludwig I, is one of Bavaria's most famous landmarks – and forms the unmistakable backdrop for this run.
