Waldstadt — A District in Southern Potsdam
Waldstadt is a neighborhood in the south of Potsdam, located east of the Stern area and bordering the Brauhausberg forest. Developed in the 1970s as a large-scale prefabricated housing estate, it is now one of the most vibrant quarters in the Brandenburg state capital, home to around 12,000 residents, a distinct multicultural community, and active social work. The EINE Waldstadt network brings together the key players in the area.
A Neighborhood Festival at its Core
The Waldstadt Neighborhood Festival is the district's annual summer highlight. In 2026, it will take place on Saturday, September 5, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Waldsportplatz / Kahleberg-Sportplatz (Kiefernring 52). Admission is free. The festival is intentionally designed as a neighborhood gathering—not a large commercial event, but a place for local clubs, initiatives, and residents of Waldstadt to connect.
2026 Program
The festival offers a diverse stage program featuring dance, live music, and performances, along with numerous interactive activities for all ages:
- Stage Program with local bands, choirs, and dance groups
- Interactive Activities for children and families: crafts, chess, and game stations
- Sports: competitions and hands-on activities hosted by local sports clubs
- Club and Information Booths from non-profit organizations

The detailed 2026 program will be published shortly before the event at potsdamwaldstadt.de.
