21st edition of the Palatinate Herb Market in Wachenheim with herbs, plants, regional products, and Heimatverein program
For over two decades, the Heimatverein Wachenheim has been organizing its Herb Market — an event that has a firm place in the Palatinate region's spring calendar. The 21st edition in 2026 stands for consistency and quality: a proven format, carefully curated exhibitors, and a clear thematic focus on herbs, plants, and regional products.
At the market stalls, visitors will find: Herbs of all kinds — from classic basil and rosemary to rare medicinal herbs; perennials and seedlings for garden and balcony; Mediterranean plants, tomato and vegetable rarities; beekeeping products (honey, beeswax candles, mead); regional foods (jams, juices, cheese, sausage); natural cosmetics; handicrafts with a connection to nature.
The Heimatverein Wachenheim is a traditional institution in the Palatinate wine town and is committed to preserving local history, customs, and identity. The Herb Market is one of its central events and finances further activities of the association. In addition to the market activities, association members offer information on Wachenheim's history, short guided tours, and a supporting program.
The Herb Market takes place on a Sunday in May — typically during the Palatinate spring phase when the days are warm but not yet hot, and the gardening season is in full swing. The Wachenheim town center with its historic facades provides the ideal backdrop for a relaxing Sunday with a market, Palatinate specialties, and wine.
The 21st edition continues the proven concept: a curated market with herb growers, nurseries, beekeepers, and regional direct marketers in the historic Wachenheim town center. The program is complemented by contributions from the Heimatverein on Wachenheim's history.
