The Volksfest Ergoldsbach is the traditional early summer Volksfest of the market town Ergoldsbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut. For five days from June 3rd to 7th, 2026, the festival grounds invite you to enjoy the beer tent, amusement rides, a parade, and a family program. The festival tent is operated by festival host Max Reichl in cooperation with the traditional private brewery Stöttner from Pfaffenberg – a Weißbier tent with light beer and Weißbier from their own brewery. New in 2026 is the Weißbier carousel, which will be set up in the festival tent.

Volksfest Ergoldsbach — edition 2026

The Volksfest Ergoldsbach 2026 will take place from Wednesday, June 3rd, to Sunday, June 7th, 2026, on the festival grounds. The Weißbier tent will be operated by festival host Max Reichl and Privatbrauerei Stöttner. New this year: the Weißbier carousel in the tent. Amusement rides, live music, and classic Lower Bavarian Volksfest cuisine characterize the five days of the festival.

Volksfest Ergoldsbach 2026

From June 3rd to 7th, 2026, the Volksfest Ergoldsbach will open its gates. The Weißbier tent is once again under the management of festival host Max Reichl and Privatbrauerei Stöttner from Pfaffenberg, who supply the Volksfest beer. The highlight of 2026 is the newly installed Weißbier carousel in the festival tent.

The program follows the Lower Bavarian Volksfest tradition with an opening parade, beer tapping ceremony, daily live music, a parade, a family day, and a festive closing. The festival grounds offer amusement rides for all ages, shooting galleries, candy and snack stalls, as well as the typical Volksfest culinary offerings with roast chicken and grilled fish on a stick.

Getting There

By car: via the A92 (exit Mengkofen or Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg) or the B15 (Landshut–Straubing). By train: Ergoldsbach station on the Landshut–Straubing line, approx. 10 minutes walk to the festival grounds.

The Volksfest is also a good starting point for visiting the Privatbrauerei Stöttner in Pfaffenberg (~10 km away).

A Classic Lower Bavarian Volksfest

The Volksfest Ergoldsbach is a fixed date in the Lower Bavarian Volksfest calendar between Landshut, Straubing, and Mallersdorf. The market town of Ergoldsbach, a municipality with around 6,500 inhabitants, organizes the festival annually at the beginning of June. The focus is on the beer tent: festival host Max Reichl – an established festival host in the Lower Bavarian Volksfest scene – runs the Weißbier tent together with the Privatbrauerei Stöttner from Pfaffenberg.

The Privatbrauerei Stöttner

The Stöttner family brewery has existed for over 150 years and supplies the specially brewed Volksfest beer for the festival in Ergoldsbach. Stöttner Weißbier has cult status in the region – the tent attracts regular guests who specifically come to Ergoldsbach for the special beer selection.

New for 2026: The Weißbier Carousel

A novelty for the 2026 edition: the Weißbier carousel, set up in the beer tent, where festival-goers can enjoy their Weißbier like in a classic standing carousel. The idea combines the Lower Bavarian Volksfest tavern atmosphere with a visual eye-catcher.

Program and Atmosphere

The festival tent offers live music with Lower Bavarian dance bands, along with classic Wiesn food: roast chicken, bratwurst, grilled fish on a stick, pretzels, and cold cuts. The festival grounds attract families with amusement rides, a swing boat, a children's carousel, a shooting gallery, and candy stalls. The atmosphere is familiar and traditional, far from the mass tourism of the Munich Oktoberfest.

Ergoldsbach is located in the district of Landshut, Bavaria, about 20 km northeast of Landshut. The market town borders the districts of Straubing-Bogen and Dingolfing-Landau and is conveniently located between the Lower Bavarian Volksfest metropolises.
