48 hours of Techno at Edelfettwerk
In recent seasons, the VER Festival has established itself as one of Hamburg's most intense techno weekends. The concept is simple and radical: two days, two nights, four floors, continuous hard techno and electro. Open-air during the day amidst industrial halls, and indoors at night in the converted spaces of the Edelfettwerk, a former fat refinery in Hamburg's west.
The Edelfettwerk on Schnackenburgallee in Bahrenfeld is one of the city's most characteristic industrial locations. High ceilings, exposed steel beams, long sightlines — the architecture creates visuals that seem almost surreal between DJ sets. In case of rain, all open-air acts are moved indoors; the festival is organized to be weather-proof.
Headliners for 2026 are Nico Moreno and Aerea live, plus David Löhlein, Upper90, Janis Zielinski, Nina Hepburn, Olea, Skkin, Velvet, and Twofacedkimmy. The booking reflects the current wave of hard European techno: fast BPM range, industrial textures, occasional trance influences. Age 18 and over, continuous from 2 PM to 6 AM.
Bahrenfeld, in the Altona district, is one of Hamburg's fastest-changing cultural areas. Between the DESY research campus and old industrial halls, clubs, studios, and festival spaces are emerging. VER joins other open-air events that transform the area into a small North German techno capital during the summer.
Throughout the entire Pentecost weekend, the program unfolds across two outdoor and two indoor floors. During the day, sets are played under the open sky on the industrial grounds of the Edelfettwerk, and at night, everything moves indoors. In case of bad weather, the open-air acts are completely relocated inside — the festival actively promotes its weather-proof setup.
Admission is for ages 18 and over, continuously from 2 PM on Saturday until approximately 6 AM on Monday morning. Strict no-photo policy on the dance floors.
Nico Moreno as headliner, Aerea live, four floors between open-air and industrial indoor spaces, continuous sound from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning.
