Poland's biggest music festival in Hamburg at the Barclays Arena
With nearly 200,000 people of Polish descent in Hamburg and its surrounding areas, the Polish community is the second-largest foreign population group in the Hanseatic city. The Polonia Music Festival targets precisely this community – and year after year, fills the Barclays Arena in the Stellingen district (Eimsbüttel borough). On the Sylvesterallee grounds, a few steps from the Volksparkstadion, thousands of Polish-speaking fans gather for a concert evening, bringing the grand events of Warsaw or Krakow's open-air shows to Northern Germany.
Programmatically, the festival covers the broadest spectrum of commercial Polish pop music. Disco Polo — the specifically Polish synthesis of disco, folk song, and Schlager — is a firm pillar. Added to this are Polish pop acts, Folk Pop ensembles, and boyband reunions. The musical style is danceable, melodic, often sing-along; lyrics are almost exclusively in Polish.
With over 15,000 seats, the Barclays Arena is Hamburg's largest multi-purpose hall. For the Polonia Music Festival, it is converted to concert seating; four stage areas or stage changes allow the program to be extended over several hours with short transitions. Doors typically open around 4:30 PM, with concerts ending around 11 PM.
The Polonia Music Festival has been held annually in Hamburg since 2023. The premiere was on November 17, 2023, followed by editions in autumn 2024 and on November 15, 2025. Hamburg is thus establishing itself as a regular stop on the festival tour, alongside Oberhausen, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Munich. The date for the 2026 edition has not yet been publicly confirmed at the time of publication.
Even though music is the focus, the festival also serves as a social meeting point for many visitors: reunions with acquaintances from all over Northern Germany, Polish-language food stalls, a family program with childcare in the anterooms — parents regularly bring their children aged ten and above with a chaperone.
The Hamburg edition of the Polonia Music Festival has taken place annually since 2023 — so far on November 17, 2023, in autumn 2024, and on November 15, 2025. For 2026, the date is not yet official at the time of publication, but the concept is clear: a long concert evening with Polish pop and Disco Polo acts at the Barclays Arena.
Doors are expected to open around 4:30 PM as usual, with concerts starting around 5 PM and ending at 11 PM. Children aged ten and above are admitted only with a chaperone and a valid ticket.
The official 2026 lineup will be announced on poloniafestival.de and via the Barclays Arena. As a rule, four to seven headliners from the Polish pop and Disco Polo scene are announced, performing one after another or in stage changes.
