Veilchendienstag-Umzug Koblenz-Immendorf

The Veilchendienstag-Umzug in Koblenz-Immendorf is a typical district carnival event with a village character. Immendorf is one of the southeastern districts of Koblenz with a rural character. Despite its manageable size, the district maintains a vibrant carnival culture.

Shrove Tuesday

In the Rhineland carnival, Shrove Tuesday is the last major carnival day before Ash Wednesday, marking the official end of the carnival season. While the major parades in Koblenz city center take place on Rose Monday, Shrove Tuesday is the day for district and village parades. In Immendorf, the tradition is maintained with particularly dedicated participation from local clubs.

Route

The parade starts punctually at 2:11 PM at the village square in Quellenweg and follows a manageable route through the village: Dorfplatz – Quellenweg – Ringstraße – Schloßhofstraße – Bitzenweg – Reuschweg – back to Dorfplatz. The route is family-friendly and easily accessible from various points.

Atmosphere

Floats, walking groups, music bands, carnival guards, and costumed families make up the parade. Afterwards, a small post-parade party takes place in the festival tent or the village inn — a tradition that has been maintained in the Koblenz districts for generations.
