When Varel Live starts, the Neumarktplatz belongs to concert-goers on clear Friday evenings. The city has consistently developed the central square into an open-air stage a few years ago, offering a concert series that appeals to all generations.
Four Concerts Every Two Weeks
Concerts follow one another every two weeks over the summer. The musical spectrum is deliberately broad, ensuring there's something for every taste.
Queen May Rock – Queen Tribute
Queen May Rock brings a tribute band that brings the repertoire of the legendary British rock band to the stage – from Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You to Don't Stop Me Now.
Sir Williams – Robbie Williams Tribute
Sir Williams breathes new life into Robbie Williams' greatest hits. Charming in showmanship, close to the original in vocals – a guarantee for full dance floors.
Caught Indie Act – Indie Rock
Caught Indie Act brings fresh indie rock to the Neumarktplatz. A welcome change from the tribute acts and an opportunity to discover new music.
Flying Soul Toasters – Soul and Funk
The Flying Soul Toasters close the series with groovy soul and funk. Danceable, captivating, and perfect for balmy late summer evenings on the Neumarktplatz.
Varel Live — edition 2026
The 2026 edition spans about ten summer weeks and offers a very diverse musical program. With tribute acts for Queen and Robbie Williams on one hand, and indie and soul formations on the other, different audience segments are targeted.
