Metal in the Freiheitshalle
The Up to 11 Festival is a compact, high-caliber indoor metal festival. Organized by metal promoter Markus Grau from Schleiz, it took place for the first time in the Freiheitshalle Hof in 2026, after two editions in Neustadt an der Orla, Thuringia – a modern event hall that underwent extensive renovation between 2009 and 2012.
International Headliners
The festival unites several headliners on one evening. In 2026, the lineup included the Italian melodic power metal band Rhapsody of Fire, the Nuremberg-based power metal formation Freedom Call, and Dirkschneider, led by Udo Dirkschneider (formerly of Accept). In approximately five hours of event time, the festival offers about four hours of live music with short changeover breaks.
Meeting Point for the Metal Scene
With its mix of established genre greats and a compact concept, the Up to 11 Festival has established itself as a fixed date in the calendar for Power and Heavy Metal fans. The relocation to Hof provides the festival with a modern hall featuring good infrastructure and an attached hotel.

On January 10, 2026, the Up to 11 Festival was held for the first time at the Freiheitshalle Hof. In approximately five hours of event time, Freedom Call, Rhapsody of Fire, and Dirkschneider, led by Udo Dirkschneider, delivered about four hours of live metal. Alen Brentini joined as a new guitarist for Dirkschneider. The next edition is announced for January 9, 2027.
