Electronic Open-Air at the former mining site — Whit Saturday with Alle Farben, Glockenbach, and Moguai
The Tropical Mountain Festival is one of the largest electronic open-airs in Saarland — and probably the only one held on a former mining spoil heap. The Bergmanns Alm at the Reden adventure site provides an unusual festival backdrop: the reclaimed heap of the decommissioned Reden hard coal mine offers a wide view over Saarland, a green meadow area for the stage, and the necessary geographical drama that an electronic festival needs.
The festival takes place on Whit Saturday — May 23rd in 2026. Tradition or strategy? Both. For many young people in Saarland, Pentecost marks the beginning of the festival season, and Tropical Mountain has established itself as a fixture. If the weather cooperates, the atmosphere here is like Mallorca — tropical outfits, glitter, sunglasses, cold drinks.
The headliners speak for themselves: Alle Farben, one of Germany's most successful DJs (Frans Zimmer, "She Moves", "Bad Ideas"), who has been playing at major European festivals for years. Glockenbach, the Munich duo with the global hit "Brooklyn". Öwnboss, the Brazilian Tech-House DJ with "Move Your Body". Moguai, the Saarland Tech-House veteran, who will infuse this home game with special energy. Supported by Oswald, Carstn, and Nena Polap.
A spectacular main stage is set up on the "Auf der Alm", featuring an elaborate light show, LED walls, and pyro effects — unusual for a festival of this size. Event organizer Alm Events cooperates with the young SR format UNSERDING, which promotes the festival's brand as its home event.
Schiffweiler is located in the Neunkirchen district, in eastern Saarland. The Reden adventure site is now one of the most important industrial monuments in Saarland — the former shaft facility was converted into an adventure area after its closure, featuring restaurants, an indoor playground, a dinosaur park, and the Bergmanns Alm. Tropical Mountain is just one of several festivals held here — a steampunk festival and a beer festival also take place here.
Those who want the full package can book a VIP ticket: private bar with buffet, unlimited drinks in the VIP zone, private restrooms, dedicated parking, shuttle service, and optimal stage views. For €239 (plus fees), the festival becomes a premium experience.
