Triptis in the Saale-Orla District

Triptis is a small town with around 3,500 inhabitants in the Saale-Orla district in the state of Thuringia, located on the A9 motorway between Schleiz and Pößneck. The town is known for its porcelain tradition: The Triptis porcelain and tableware factories shaped the region's industry from 1891 onwards. Today, Triptis is a rural small town with an active club landscape and regular festivals throughout the year.

25 Years of Wine Festival — A Young Tradition

The Triptis Wine Festival was established in the early 2000s as a small-town autumn festival and has since developed into a popular social meeting point in the region. 2026 marks the 25th edition — a jubilee for a format that, unlike in the Franconian or Mosel regions, does not continue centuries-old wine traditions in Thuringia, but rather shapes a modern culture of conviviality.

Program and Atmosphere

The festival on the Market Square offers wine tastings with vintners from Saale-Unstrut (Thuringia's own wine-growing region, Germany's northernmost growing region), Rheinhessen, Pfalz, Mosel, and other regions. Accompanying this are live music and an entertainment program: Pop, rock, and Schlager on stage, plus Federweißer (young wine) tasting, onion cake, chestnuts, and autumnal specialties. Families will find stalls with children's drinks and a small carousel.
