A festival of encounter with music, dance, and culinary delights from around the world in Fischergasse
The Treuchtlingen Festival of Cultures has been a firm fixture in the event calendar of the Middle Franconian town of Treuchtlingen for over fifteen years. On May 1st, the historic Fischergasse transforms into a vibrant place of encounter where people of diverse origins present themselves with music, dance, and culinary specialties.
The festival opens at 11 AM with an ecumenical service, followed by a welcome address from the mayor and songs by the Treuchtlingen singing club founded in 1837. Afterwards, the stage offers a diverse program:
Around a dozen stands offer international cuisine: from Hungarian and Sicilian specialties to bratwurst and Middle Eastern baklava, plus coffee and cake. Information and hands-on stands invite exchange and make the festival an experience for the whole family.
Treuchtlingen is located in the district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen on the edge of the Altmühltal Nature Park and the Franconian Lake District. The Festival of Cultures underscores the town's cosmopolitan self-image and is an example of the vibrant integration work in the Altmühlfranken region.
The 16th Treuchtlingen Festival of Cultures will take place on May 1st, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Fischergasse. It opens at 11 AM with an ecumenical service, a welcome address from Mayor Kristina Becker, and songs by the local singing club.
The stage program includes country, pop, and rock at midday, Latin American dances at 1 PM, line dancing at 2 PM, traditional folk dances of the Transylvanian Saxons at 2:30 PM, and live music from 3 PM, interspersed with sports acrobatics by TSV Monheim. Eleven stands will offer international cuisine, from Hungarian and Sicilian specialties to baklava.
Annually on May 1st, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in Fischergasse, Treuchtlingen.
